The activities

The cooperation will have a direct impact on young people through the provision of better activities and most of all more active and cohesive support by local actors, and the benefit will impact both youth and adult in the process. In order to provide those tools and support to youth operators and young people in Asian countries, the partners are going to:

Increase partners readiness to deal with common challenges, by sharing knowledge and collecting best practices and presenting them during the initial meeting in Vietnam (January 2020).

Increase the professional skills of 12 Asian and EU Youth workers in networking, sustainability and territorial analysis, during a 1-weeklong training in Malaysia (June 2020)

Increase the competences and abilities of youth workers after the training session, by involving them actively in the production of the new materials and, in particular, during the local activities organized to test the newly acquired skills of the operators.

Increase the usability of the SUSTAIN program during local piloting performed by the 4 Asian partners aimed at fine-tuning the proposed contents and techniques while ensuring youth activation at local level and empowerment

Enlarge youth workers ability to empower and assist young people through a week-long workshop in Italy(September 2020) during which 28 participants also assess the whole cooperation and the results obtained.

Consolidate a solid network among youth operators and organizations from Europe and Asian countries during the final meeting in Paris (February 2021), that for a mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and good practices will continue to cooperate and develop further joint initiatives.

During the project’s live time the partners are going to produce:

  1. Report on good practices – collection of activities offered by the partners to their target groups. (Available May 2020)
  2. SUSTAIN program – manual for youth workers on participated planning and community support (Available September 2020)
  3. Effective Non-formal education methods, manual to foster youth empowerment
    (Available January 2021)
  4. Lesson learned during the sustain project journey, tips and suggestions for future cooperation and exploitation plan (Available March 2021)

The reports and manuals will be available as soon as produced. Stay tuned by subscribing to our facebook page! The project represents a platform for an enhanced cooperation between European and Asian organizations active in the field of youth.

The cooperation envisaged will address the need for the Asian Youth sector to get better access to high quality training and non-formal education methods. The project will count on the combined experience of Italy, France and Poland, acquired during different experiences maturated during many important European initiatives in the field of youth work at local and International level.

The transnational dimension of the project descends from the scope of the challenge it aims at meeting and of the proposed approach. Indeed, local/regional/national funding in Europe and especially in the Asian region would not cover an effort of this transnational scope.

And in particular on the lack of similar programmes that support this specific type of activities across regions of the world. In particular, given the quite high number of youth in the area, this sort of initiative can be quite beneficial for the youth workers, the community and the youth living there.
